PRYSMIAN AT THE “WORLDWIRE AND CABLE CONFERENCE”

Paris, 10-12 June 2007 - Prysmian co-hosts theWorld Wire and Cable Conference, a preeminent international event in the cables industry

Paris, 10 June 2007 – Prysmian, a worldwide leading player in the cable industry, co-hosts the World Wire and Cable Conference, a preeminent international event in the cables industry organized by CRU, the independent authority on the global wire and cable business.

The main goal of the event, an appointment for all the major players in the field, is to give the participants a comprehensive update and insight about the latest trends of the worldwide wires and cables industry. Particularly, the conference will be strongly focused on the creation of value and risk control in the wires and cables business.

Prysmian is present with some of the most representative top managers: Valerio Battista, Chief Executive Officer, opens the first session with the keynote speech, ‘Creating Value through Innovation in the Cables Industry’, focusing on the importance of innovation to guarantee a continuous growth.

Fabio Romeo (Head of Energy Business) chairs the second session, ‘Materials management in a volatile
price environment’, and Giovanni B. Scotti (Head of Telecom Business) chairs the opening session of the
KMI Fiberoptics Conference.

Furthermore, within the Power Cables session, Hans Nieman (Director of High Voltage and Submarine Systems) presents new grid interconnection initiatives for submarine cables, whereas, within the KMI Fiberoptics session Alessandro Pirri (Product Manager for FTTx Solutions) gives a focus speech about“Fibre to the Home – Bridging the Last Mile”.
