New Rugged Superior Essex FTTP Hardware Product Line Engineered to Exceed Twice the Requirements of GR771-CORE
Wednesday, Sep 01, 2010
Superior Essex, an industry leader in the design, manufacture and supply of optical fiber and copper cable products, today announced the introduction of its Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) hardware portfolio, which includes fiber splice closures and accessories.
The new FTTP closures are designed and tested to exceed twice the durability and ruggedness of industry requirements. The dome and in-line closure families have been tested to meet twice the mechanical stress load requirements of GR771-CORE for external and internal failure when being vertically dropped, impacted, and compressed at temperature extremes. A 10-year warranty is provided for every closure to provide extra assurance of longevity.
The FTTP product line is designed to accommodate Superior Essex fiber cable designs, as well as most competitors’ fiber cable products. Other features, including hinged splice trays and a single-bolt latch mechanism, enable easy installation.
“The exceptional ruggedness of our new closure product line will attract the attention of most users, who will also appreciate the closures’ accessibility and other ergonomic features,” said Director, FTTP Product Management, Tom Stevens. “And, our 10-year warranty provides a level of assurance that is unmatched in the industry.”
