El Sewedy Electric in Ghana wind project talks

El Sewedy Electric is negotiating with Ghana to install a wind power project with investments of $350 million to $400 million.
Sewedy would begin work on the project in January if granted approval by the Ghanaian government, Ahmed Azouz, head of Sewedy’s office in Ghana.
The firm is also working on other projects in Ghana totalling some $67 million that include a road light project and eight power generation projects in Accra.
The wind farm equipment maker had said it was also eyeing wind markets in Brazil, Turkey, Pakistan and Libya.
Sewedy plans to produce 300 towers in 2012 at its wind towers plant in Ain Sukhna on Egypt’s Red Sea coast.
Also the Arab world’s biggest listed cable maker, Sewedy has production plants in Ghana and 10 other countries. It exports to markets in the Middle East North Africa region, Brazil, Portugal, Spain and eastern Europe.
