In the data networking market, Belden provides enabling technologies for the physical communications infrastructure within and between buildings. Products include structured cabling systems comprised of metallic and fiber optic cable, connectivity components, wiring racks, panels, interconnecting hardware, intelligent patching devices, Power over Ethernet panels, and cable management solutions. We also provide cable for CATV, wireless communication, and the telecom central office.
In the video, sound and security markets we provide the cables preferred by broadcast professionals, including products for digital TV production, and we provide specialized cable for video surveillance systems, airport baggage screening, building access control, public address systems, and fire alarm systems.
In the industrial automation market, our products are used with closed-loop manufacturing systems, programmable controllers and robots. We make special cable configurations to withstand harsh environments and to resist signal interference from nearby equipment. End markets for our industrial cables include industries such as petroleum refining, chemical manufacturing, paper production, semiconductor manufacturing, the automotive industry, and many others.
For OEMs in the aerospace and defense business, we provide cables that meet the most demanding specifications for heat resistance, flexibility and durability. Some of our cable products can withstand heat up to 1093°C. A recent new product supports live satellite TV for in-flight entertainment systems.
Belden has manufacturing capabilities throughout North America and Europe and a market presence in nearly every region of the world. The Company was formed through a merger of equals between Belden Inc. and Cable Design Technologies Corp. in July 2004.
